I belong on Heroes, too!

When I think of narcolepsy, I think of collapsing poodles and fainting goats. So, when I visited a sleep specialist a few weeks ago and he suggested I might have narcolepsy, I just about fell out of my chair trying not to laugh. Yet, here I am at home from work for the second or third time in a year year because I don't feel confident enough that I won't fall asleep in the car during my drive to work. (I mean, besides my normal napping at stop lights. I guess that's not normal for most people.) For those of you prone to worry about me (Mom, Dad) I've rescheduled the overnight sleep study appointment I canceled.

Even if my problem is narcolepsy, it's still pretty darn funny, especially if I keep having the waking dreams like the one I had the other night. (Hypnopompic hallucinations--apparently another symptom of narcolepsy.) Josh came to bed after I'd fallen asleep, and I woke up, but not enough to stop dreaming. I spent about five minutes trying to convince him that I had information from another dimension that would help stop Peter on Heroes from blowing up New York City. Of course, since the information was from another dimension, I didn't have the vocabulary to describe it. I was so upset I was crying. Of course, maybe I wasn't having waking dreams. Maybe, instead of narcolepsy or some other sleep disorder, I really have special powers. Next season on Heroes, suburban paper-pusher Amy Walton dreams in other dimensions... All I need is someone else with Linguistic Super Powers to help me describe my dreams.

Japan

A slow connection has prevented me from uploading photos of my trip, but until I get a chance to hunt down someplace where I can get a faster connection, you can view the highlights according to my brother. Enjoy.
