It snowed in Santa Monica today, but Rim Nordic is back down to 0". Maybe it will snow in the mountains again this weekend. If not, well, at least I got a nice run in on Sunday. You suckers out east who have no snow have check out the lovely trail I got ski on Sunday:

Of course, I had to deal with this to get there:

Also got these shots of the valley where we live on my way home. Smog makes for nice sunsets.
Airfarewatchdog.com is one of the best sites for finding discount airline tickets I've ever seen. A co-worker told be about it on Friday, and the first time I visited the site, I found round-trip tickets to Columbus for $180 per person, including all of the taxes and fees. (Normally, it's more like $350-$400.) I'm goin' to see my family in February, baby.
You know the little glowing spot on Apple laptops? The one that makes it looks like it's breathing? Mine burnt out. At least it won't creep me out in the dark any more.
Apparently, that is the mantra for ski enthusiasts in the Southland, not to mention the title of a book on the subject. Apparently, people were praying because it snowed here in the RC Friday morning. Well, sort of. More like slushing, but I will take what I can get. Hey, there was a half-inch layer of frozen water of some sort on my car. Anyway, for the first time since I brought my cross-country skis back with me from Ohio, cross country ski area near us is actually open. I made an attempt to go skiing. I left kind of late, and then hit nasty traffic due to a nearby freeway being closed, and then realized my wallet was still at home after I'd been driving half an hour. By the time I got home, it was too late to try again. I guess there are more obstacles to skiing in SoCal than just the weather. Oh well, maybe I'll get there tomorrow.
