You may think that my neglect of my blog has something to do with the fact that I've been zipping about the country, flying to Sacramento, Michigan, Alaska, and Ohio all in the course of a month and a half. But no, that is not the reason. I have been enchanted by a book, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. Josh downloaded the audiobook and got me hooked. It is 32 hours long and quite addictive. I can't, um, put it down? What's the term for a book you listen to? I can't turn it off, I guess, and I still have six and a half hours left. It is the most gripping volume of extremely dry Britishness I have ever read, although I will say that it took me a little while to get into it. As long as you have no strong aversion to fantasy, you would like it. It's about the return of English magic, and that's all I feel I ought to say about the topic of the book. Read it.
