Geekitude

I took the geek quiz mentioned by my brother on his blog. Apparently, I am Kirsten Dunst. Hrmph. I'm not so sure about that. Can't I at least be someone a little edgier, like Gwyneth Paltrow? (Not to mention hotter.) Oh well. At least I'm not too much of a geek, although I thought my TMBG CDs might put me over the top. Why is TMBG always mentioned in tests of geekitude? If I need to ask, does that make me more of a geek?

You are 38% geek
You are a geek liaison, which means you go both ways. You can hang out with normal people or you can hang out with geeks which means you often have geeks as friends and/or have a job where you have to mediate between geeks and normal people. This is an important role and one of which you should be proud. In fact, you can make a good deal of money as a translator.

If you need to ask why TMBG makes you more of a geek... I guess that makes you more of a geek, because you're so incredibly geeky that you're unaware of TMBG's status as a "geek-rock" band. I guess Kirsten Dunst makes a good geek liason, though. In "Spider-Man" she hangs out with geeky Peter Parker, and in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" she is dating the geeky Stan.

Kirsten Dunst is pretty hot.

Welcome, fellow geekess. I too am a geek liaison. But I still cannot fathom earning a geekier score than Will, Peter, and your dad. I'm guessing it has something to do with classical music and buying professional books because we like them, because I didn't sure didn't check the TMBG box!

I checked both the 2+ TMBG box (I own about 10) and the 2+ classical CD box (I have over 40 classical CD's at work)... and I checked off that I 'occasionally' buy academic titles 'for fun'.

I think one thing that may have knocked my score down a bit is that I can name so many reality TV stars. Geeks typically aren't into reality TV, which I guess sets me apart.

I don't know if calling myself 'male' versus 'boy' deducted from my geek points....

I wasn't anal about the MP3's versus CD's question, which may have removed some geekitude.

And of course, there wasn't an option to choose cereal or pizza for both breakfast and dinner... so I might have scored better if there was.

I just retook the test, trying to put myself back into the mindset of freshman-sophomore year of college (the peak of my geekiness), and I came out as 60% geek (photo of Drew Carey).
